Reading Comprehension
eBay
Where can you buy a football kicked by David Beckham or an old Learjet?
On eBay, of course -the world's first global online marketplace. The football sold for $18,500, and someone paid $4.9 million for the jet! Every day on eBay, there are 34 million things for sale, and 125 buyers and sellers. You can buy everything -stamps, jewellery, art, clothing, old cars and anything strange and interesting. All you need is a computer and a little time.
Pierre Omidyar, a French-Iranian computer scientist, invented eBay in California in 1995. He wanted to create a website for everybody to buy and sell things, not just big businesses. He started the website as a hobby, but now it is the biggest business in the world!
Are the following sentences true or false? Correct the false ones.
1. David Beckham's Learjet was sold for $18,500.
2. There are 34 million things for sale every week.
3. There are 125 million buyers.
4. You can buy rings through eBay.
5. eBay was invented in the USA.
6. eBay was invented before the year 2000.
7. Pierre Omidyar invented eBay for big businesses.

Comparisons - Jobs
HI STUDENTS!
I want to share with you this activity in a tool called Voicethread. It's a wonderful tool because you can leave your comment.
Click on the dice and you'll listen to me. In this picture I'm working as an Interpreter at a wedding. The woman next to me is the Registry Officer. The groom is from England, that's why he needed an Interpreter.
I've told you about my jobs.
I'd like you to compare two or three jobs that you'd like to have in the future, that you had in the past, or have in the present. Or maybe, you can compare the job you've got now and the one you'd like to have when you graduate.
I'll be waiting for your comments.
